Junction Isolation

Wall-floor, wall-ceiling, and corner junction details. Every junction is a potential flanking path — seal them all or lose the isolation chain.

Float Floor to Wall Junction

[AC] 25 mm perimeter gap at ALL walls — must NOT be bridged. Any rigid contact defeats the entire isolation system.
ElementSpecificationCritical Note
Perimeter gap25mm at walls · 10mm at columns (COL_W, COL_E)Continuous — no breaks, no bridges
Gap at COL_W10mm on all 4 faces of columnColumn center: (369.1, 140.6)
Gap at COL_E10mm on all 4 faces of columnColumn center: (762.1, 138.1)
Gap fillTremco acoustic sealant ONLYNot foam, not caulk, not silicone
Float floor surfaceMust NOT touch wall base plateBase plate sits on structural slab
Wall base plateSits on structural slab, NOT on float floorWall and floor are independent systems
Float floor buildup15cm: Sylomer SR28 + 2×18mm T&G plywoodStaggered joints, 400mm offset

Wall to Ceiling Junction

ElementSpecification
Gypsum terminationTerminates at ceiling grid level — no rigid contact with structure above
Resilient channel at topHat channel hung on RSIC clips, NOT rigidly fixed to structure
Plenum barrier gypsumRuns from ceiling tile level (275cm AFF) to structural slab (340cm slab-to-slab)
Air gap partition-to-slabFill with Rockwool + Tremco sealant [AC]
Ceiling grid height275cm AFF — ALL rooms, no exceptions
Plenum depth50cm (275cm ceiling to 325cm structural clear)
[AC] CRITICAL: Plenum barriers MUST be installed at EVERY partition wall before ceiling close-up. They cannot be retrofitted. Without them, sound flanks over the top of every wall.

Wall-to-Wall Corners

Where partition frames meet concrete walls:

RuleDetail
No direct contactPartition frame must NOT touch concrete wall
Gap10mm between partition frame and concrete
FillRockwool + Tremco sealant
FastenersNo screws into concrete through partition frame

Column Isolation CRITICAL

Any rigid column contact transmits vibration to every floor of the building.

COL_W — West Column

Size
60 × 50 cm
Center
(369.1, 140.6)
Clearance
10mm minimum ALL sides
Method
Boxed out — framing does NOT touch column on any face
Gap fill
Rockwool batt + Tremco sealant

COL_E — East Column

Size
60 × 55 cm
Center
(762.1, 138.1)
Clearance
10mm minimum ALL sides
Method
Boxed out — partially embedded in east wall
Gap fill
Rockwool batt + Tremco sealant
[AC] Sara Kalash confirmed: "boxed out, no screws bolted to column." This is non-negotiable.

Buffer Spine Junctions

JunctionDetail
Buffer spine (W5)Frames independently — does NOT share studs with any other wall
VO/Control partition (W6)Butts to buffer spine face — does NOT share studs
Studio/Editing partition (W7)Butts to buffer spine face — does NOT share studs
T-junction approachStaggered stud arrangement at all T-junctions
Buffer spine thickness15cm (West face X: 213.6cm, East face X: 228.6cm)
Buffer spine STC55 (Wall Type 5)
HVAC routing: Buffer spine is the ONLY permitted duct routing path between east and west zones.
